Ave Maria
IGM presents Ave Maria, from composer Julián De La Chica’s Early sacred songs, recorded masterfully by Russian Mezzo Yana Mann. About the piece, Mann wrote: “In these past months many of you asked me for the famous Ave Maria. So I decided to record it, but continuing with my commitment to support current music and its composers, I decided to record De La Chica’s Ave Maria, the same composer and producer of my album Los Poemas de bar, Op. 12. This is a beautiful piece composed in 1998.
Notes:
De la Chica composed Ave Maria in 1998, as part of his cycle: Early Sacred songs, when he was working in a church in his native Manizales. De La Chica said in an interview: I was tired of playing the same Schubert's Ave Maria at weddings, and one day, my mother told me: Didn't you want to be a composer? why don't you compose an Ave Maria. And so this piece was born.
